Villa Giuggiola

Marche, Italy

Nestled in the wooded slopes of the Parco Regionale del Conero stands an early 19th century farmhouse. The natural park around the Monte Conero is a little gem on the Adriatic coast, with dense forests leading up to steep cliffs above unspoilt beaches and rock formations. Steeped in history, bucolic views and gastronomic specialities, it is an enchanted spot on the calf of the famous boot.

The historic building and the surrounding land, largely left untouched for many decades, is now being given a new lease of life. The farmhouse will be restored to preserve its original features and reconfigured for use as residential quarters and creative production studios. True to its setting, the project will see its future as a self-sufficient carbon-neutral outpost, utlising renewable technologies and natural materials to see it into its new chapter, the galleone with full wind in the sails.
